The Training and assessment is designed for experienced Gas and Plumbing engineers who need to certificate for gas safety competence in carrying out gas work safely and commissioning appliances, e.g. tightness, ventilation and gas appliance chimneys (flues) . It will also ensure that candidates can recognise, take action and remove dangerous and at risk situations.
The assessment (both theory and practical) covers:

Initial Training and/or Assessment: NVQ level 2 Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing) or NVQ level 2 Gas Utilisation, Installation and Maintenance.
Also you will need initial assessment if your previous certificate has been expired for more than 12 months.
Re- assessment: You need to have held a previous CCN1, which has not been expired for over 1 year.
